Description of Soldering Technician based in Galway

Primary Function: 

We are looking for an experienced solderer to join our growing team of skilled individuals here in Galway. This position will require you to perform various types of soldering tasks including surface mount, plate thru-hole, and hand-soldering. Carrying out PCB and component inspection is also a requirement.

Major Responsibilities: 

• Use microscope and soldering equipment to add/remove small components on printed circuit boards, soldering of wires, and PCB repair.

• Adhere to company practices regarding safety and control of electrostatic discharge (ESD)

• Ensure Customer Product is repaired/upgraded in an appropriate time frame.

• Work with other team members, ensure that capabilities are available to economically and effectively repair supplied units.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

• Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and quality of soldering work.

• Prior experience soldering electronic components is required

• Ability to manage projects in an effective manner

• Ability to work with cross functional teams

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work as an excellent team player is essential

• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Qualification:

• IPC-A-610 certification an advantage
